May 7, 2016 - May 14, 2016
Book and lyrics by Anne Croswell; music by Lee Pockriss
Starring Milwaukee stage favorite Angela Iannone as Lady Bracknell!
In this musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic, The Importance of Being Earnest, the handsome young aristocrat Jack has a problem; he cannot possibly afford to marry Gwendolen, the girl he loves. His best friend Algernon has another problem; he and Cecily are in love, but not of the same class. Jack and Algy must use their wits to prove their worth, prove their parentage and get the girls, all under the watchful glare of the imperious Lady Bracknell. Considered one of the world’s greatest comedies, Wilde’s effervescent dialogue is given new sparkle as a musical. Featuring the irrepressible Angela Iannone as Lady Bracknell. (Suited for all ages, but best enjoyed by those 13 and over.)
Produced in collaboration with Milwaukee Opera Theatre
